Emertius Prof. Jeong Nam Kim donated his single crystals to Physics Department. He is the very first generation of our department. He entered the Physics department at 1955. He served faculty job for nearly 40 years in the department. He is also one of the pioneers in the field of oxide single crystal growth in South Korea. I would say he is the living legend. With Dr. Dongjin Kim, we heard many interesting stories about early age of the department. He donated gamma-phase single crystal, star ruby, quartz, and lithium niobate from his apparatus on flame-fusion method, autoclave, and Cz method.
